First seminar of JICA's

On Friday, August 4, 2023, we welcomed Ms. Aiko Suzuki, Vice President of JOCA Nambu, Japan Overseas Cooperation Association, and Ms. Kumi Torigoe, JICA 2019 2nd Team, and held the university's first Overseas Cooperation Volunteers seminar. Mr. Suzuki gave an overview of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) projects, and Ms. Torigoe gave a lecture on her experience in Senegal.

Eight students and nine faculty members who are interested in overseas activities participated and listened with interest.
Activities in developing countries often remind me of concerns about safety, but today's lecture showed that they have been well considered. Also, we found that it is not strange to have a hesitant feeling that "it is impossible for me to work overseas...", and that if you go one step beyond that, you can have an experience that enriches your values. And We were able to realize once again that the wonderfulness of being able to help someone with the power you have does not change even if you are in a different country.
It seems that the students' desire to play an active role overseas has become even stronger.
We would like to express my sincere gratitude to the two speakers who gave the lectures despite the continued extreme heat.
We hope that students will grow up quickly who are active overseas from our college☆
